Easton Corbin Brings His Grit and Twang to New Single "Yup"
"Yup" is the third single off of Easton Corbin's new album About to Get Real. Mixing modern and

classic country sounds, Easton's voice brings that grit and twang which has become his signature sound and this radio friendly song does not disappoint.
The song is about a guy who knows he should be going home because it's getting late, but there is a girl giving him "the look." Knowing he has to be up early the next day, he stays, buys her another drink in the hopes of getting a little closer.
You ought to shoot that last one down now Pass on that one more round now Closing in onto 8:30 Better get home, gotta hit it hard early Yup You got a pretty girl looking at you there Giving you that what you gonna do stare Saying, 'look, gonna call it a night now' But you're all wrapped up in the right now
What I find interesting about "Yup" is the pacing - usually when you have a one-word song title (that's basically just a noise) you can't help but think it's another obnoxious screamer. But that's not Easton. While the song is upbeat with a contemporary kick, there's a lot of room to breathe. You're not getting smacked over the head with "yup" over and over until you can't stand it anymore.
Radio friendly for sure and I think destined to be a hit, and "Yup" would be fun to hear in a bar with some line dancers. A true test of a genuine country music song.
Rating: Gotta take a listen.
