ASCAP to Honor Trisha Yearwood with Voice of Music Award
Nashville, Tenn - The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) will
honor Trisha Yearwood with the ASCAP Voice of Music Award at the 53rd annual ASCAP Country Music Awards, to be held on Monday, November 2nd, 2015 at the Omni Nashville Hotel. The invitation-only, black-tie gala will also honor the songwriters and publishers of ASCAP's most performed country songs from April 1st, 2014 through March 31st, 2015.
The ASCAP Voice of Music Award is a prestigious honor that ASCAP presents to songwriters and artists whose music gives voice to the spirit of a generation. Each recipient possesses a unique style of creative genius that will inspire and enrich generations to come. Past recipients include George Strait, Amy Grant, Kenny Chesney and more.
Trisha Yearwood has sold more than 12 million albums throughout the course of her career, and is a platinum-selling and multiple Grammy, CMA and ACM Award-winning recording artist. Her chart-topping hits include “She’s In Love With The Boy,” “XXX’s and OOO’s (An American Girl),” and “How Do I Live.” Since 2007, the superstar, whom Entertainment Tonight dubbed the nation’s newest "lifestyle maven," has written three New York Times best-selling cookbooks, hosted six seasons of her Emmy Award-winningFood Network show, “Trisha’s Southern Kitchen,” and debuted a line of cookware, “Trisha’s Precious Metals,” as well as her own home furnishings line, the Trisha Yearwood Home Collection with Klaussner Home Furnishings.
