Top Ten: Reasons Why We Love Kip Moore
With his highly anticipated new album "Wild Ones" hitting shelves this Friday (8/21), we started rattling off a list of the reasons we absolutely love Kip Moore - although the reasons for succeed anything we can put in writing, here's our top ten.
10.) His ability to avoid drama in the industry - Although he has had some posts on his social in defense of different occurrences, Kip largely stays out of the drama. He doesn't criticize or demean other artists, he just follows his own path and sticks with what really matters.
9.) His showmanship - he makes every audience member feel special at his show. Highly interactive, Kip is not opposed to getting the crowd amped and making them feel imperative to the
show. Example: our Katie was at a Kansas City show last year - Kip saw her getting fully immersed in the music, following his body movements. He started an impromptu dance-off/ staring competition, announcing it through his microphone so all eyes were on them. Needless to say, Katie was very excited and bashful the rest of the night.
8.) Storytelling - in a genre where pick-up trucks and there has been little depth on display as of recently, Kip refreshingly can tell a story through lyrics or the depths of his vocals.
7.) He takes pride in his work - even releasing independent EP's in between his major record releases. He does not give in to critics or follow trends.
6.) Moore has this incredibly laid back attitude - you could envision him being the 'boy next door' in his hometown of Tifton, GA, or the bad boy that drives him women wild. He has that rough exterior but a heart of gold, and don't we all love that, ladies?
5.) His looks - those captivating baby blues, the scruff, imperfect white smile and those arms. Damn those arms. He has probably the most well-sculpted arm in country music, and he knows it. *melt*
4.) His vulnerability - Just watch the video for "Hey Pretty Girl." That's the only explanation needed.
3.) His love for his fans - His meet & greet passes have been given away on social media, meeting and acknowledging as many of his fans as he can. He also posts the meet and greet photos to his Facebook page, giving a sense of attainability other artists do not. And he also stands up for his fans. Example: a year ago there was a photo of an older woman dressed provocatively in one of said meet and greet photos. While throngs of internet users were criticizing the poor woman, Kip removed the comments and proudly came to her defense.
2.) His voice - He has a gruffness to his voice, a seductively coy yet roughness that will make any woman fall to her knees and turn heads. He has Springsteen-flavored with just a touch of southern twang.
1.) His non-conformity - Moore has walked out of record labels because they wanted him in tight jeans, no ripped off sleeves and cowboy hats. Wanting to sing his own songs, Kip sticks to his guns and has become a fan favorite in the genre for it.
