Josh Thompson to Release Lost Sessions in Two Volume EP, "Change"

Change: The Lost Record, Volume One to release October 9

Nashville, TN - As one of country music’s most personal and prolific blue-collar anthem singers

and songwriters, Josh Thompson, is preparing to release a record he and many of his fans never thought would see the light of day. Change: The Lost Record, Volume One, the first in a two EP series, was originally recorded in 2011 while Thompson was signed to RCA Records. After parting ways, Josh held the songs close, some of his most personal to date, performing them in his live show, all while waiting for the right moment to share the music with fans across the country. The moment has come as Change: The Lost Record, Volume One will release digitally October 9th with partner ole Digital/The Orchard.

“It’s been soul cleansing to finally be able to share this music with my fans,” confides Josh. “I think if there’s one thing people can cling to it’s their beliefs and their way of life, I think people need that simplicity in country music and that was my goal with this record.”

As a co-writer on all of the tracks from his upcoming project, Josh cannot wait to share this music with his fans after teaming with ole Digital earlier this year.

“ole is proud to facilitate the long-overdue release of such an incredible album from Josh Thompson,” said John Ozier, GM of Nashville Creative at ole. “Ever since we first heard this record, we knew that we needed to have Josh on the ole team. We’re thrilled that his fans and the world at large will finally have a chance to hear these songs, and we look forward to ensuring that these EPs receive all the attention they deserve.”

Originally from Cedarburg, WI, Thompson moved to Nashville in 2005, scoring a major-label deal with Columbia Nashville in 2009. He released his first full-length album, Way Out Here, the following year, reaching the Top 10 on Billboard’s U.S. Top Country Albums chart. In 2012, he signed with Show Dog-Universal Music and released his second full-length, Turn It Up, in 2014, which also reached the country Top 10. Thompson has previously released five Top 40 singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart – including “Way Out Here,” “Beer on the Table,” and “Won’t Be Lonely Long.” In addition to his own music, Thompson has written songs recorded by the likes of Jason Aldean, Brad Paisley, Gary Allan, Darius Rucker and Joe Nichols.
