Nashville Event Will Feature Special Performances and Appearances by Kelly Clarkson, Martina McBride and Reba and Will Honor Long Time Musicians On Call Supporter Shane Tarleton, Vice President & Creative Director Of Warner Music Nashville
Nashville, TN – This Fall, Musicians On Call (MOC), a groundbreaking nonprofit organization that
brings live and recorded music to the bedsides of patients in healthcare facilities across the country, will be kicking off a first-of-its-kind, four city Rock The Room Tour.
The tour will kick off on October 21st in Nashville with an event that is almost sold out at City Winery, which will feature performances and appearances by Martina McBride, Kelly Clarkson and the recently added performer Kelsea Ballerini, breakout Black River Entertainment recording artist whose current single “Dibs” is Top 20-and-climbing and GOLD-certified debut "Love Me Like You Mean It" reached No. 1 on the Billboard Country Singles Chart. The event will honor longtime MOC supporter Shane Tarleton, Warner Music Nashville's Vice President & Creative Director, and will feature a special appearance by Reba. For more information on the event and to purchase tickets you can go to www.musiciansoncall.org/RTRT.
"I've had the chance to bring music to children at Vandy several times through Musicians On Call, and visibly seen how much music lifts their spirits,” shares Kelsea Ballerini. “I'm so blown away by all they do and am honored to be a part of this night with some of my favorite artists for them.”
“We’re thrilled to add Kelsea to the stellar lineup of the Rock The Room Tour,” said Pete Griffin, President of Musicians On Call. “She was a huge hit with patients during her multiple visits to Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt this year and it’s an honor to have such a rising star perform with us and help bring the healing power of music to more patients, families and caregivers.”
Shane Tarleton will be honored with a "Golden Ukelele" for the Leadership in Music Award. The event will also honor Musicians On Call Volunteer Recipients Harlan Pease with the Volunteer Musician Award and Sandra Morgan with the Volunteer Guide Award.
The Rock The Room Tour was created to raise awareness of the impact music has on healing, honor leaders in entertainment and philanthropy and raise funds for Musicians On Call in order to continue making a difference in the lives of patients through its unique “bedside tours” in hospitals. The tour will celebrate Musicians On Call’s impact in four major markets including Nashville, New York, Los Angeles, and Washington DC with special events honoring those who have showed tremendous support for the nonprofit organization. The artist and honorees for each remaining city where the Rock The Room Tour will be held will be announced soon.
The Rock The Room Tour comes on the heels of last year’s sold-out Musicians On Call 15th Anniversary Celebration that was a record-breaking event for MOC raising over $700,000. The celebration, held in New York City, honored two notable supporters of the nonprofit organization, Grammy Award winning superstar Kelly Clarkson and Republic Records Executive Vice President, Charlie Walk, as well as MOC volunteers Sandy Lyon and Jeremy Bar-Illan. MOC saw an outpouring of support at the event where Republic artist Jessie J and Island Records artists Nick Jonas and Shawn Mendes performed for the star-studded crowd including Pete Wentz, Nick Lachey, Hoda Kotb, Wyclef Jean, and Flo Rida.
