Carrie Underwood and Sam Hunt Make Beautiful Music in Underwood's Newest Single, "Heartbeat

If there is one person in Nashville whom is superb at song selection, it is Carrie Underwood. It

seems like only yesterday the bashful Checotah, Oklahoma native was debuting her chicken-clucking impersonation to the world - now she has 22 number 1's under her belt. Hot on the trails of this momentous announcement, Underwood is ready to go for #23 with her newest single, "Heartbeat."

Simplicity seems to be the trend in Nashville, both in lyrics and musicality - Underwood surpasses this style with articulacy set to a dreamy and alluring rhythm. And it's no surprise - written by Underwood, Ashley Gorley and Zach Crowell, the second single from Underwood's record-breaking fifth studio album Storyteller was inspired by Underwood's relationship with her husband, Nashville Predators' Mike Fisher:

And tonight I wanna drive so far we'll only find static on the radio And we can't see those city lights and I love the way you look in a firefly glow Saying everything without making a sound, A cricket choir in the background, underneath a harvest moon Standing on your shoes in my bare feet, dancing to the rhythm of your heartbeat

Outside of the vivid imagery of the lyrics, another fascinating facet of "Heartbeat" is the contribution of another heavy-hitter, Sam Hunt. Underwood and Hunt's voices blend immaculately - his more submissive presentation balances beautifully with Underwood's dominating vocals. Hunt's presence adds an incredible amount of tenderness to what could possibly be Underwood's best love song to date.

Simply put, "Heartbeat" is intoxicating. Perfection. And sure to become a staple at country radio. Set to make impact on November 30th, the single is available now at all digital retailers via Storyteller.
