Up-and-Comer Powerhouse Introduces Feisty Personality in Lyric Video Scores Opening Slot on 2016 CMT Next Women of Country Tour

NASHVILLE, TN – “Country as cornbread” newcomer TARA THOMPSON is plotting new chapters and sweet revenge with her debut single “Someone to Take Your Place” (The Valory Music Co.), available now. Penning the track with her producer Alex Kline and hit songwriter Leslie Satcher, Tara candidly reveals My sister did this make-up she calls it get over your break-up / She said get out there and work it girl so I'm workin’ it / I'll have two Coronas one for me one for the hot girl I just turned into yeah / I came in here to get a man and I know the man I want / Do you like the new me I am 'cause that's the one he's takin’ home. The track, executively produced by Spoon James Williams, will officially hit airwaves in early 2016 and Tara is spending the next several months introducing her sound to Country radio stations. Showing off her playful side with a sass-filled lyric video, Tara gives fans a sneak peek into her true-to-life songbook.

Tara draws inspiration from years of performing in Nashville’s premiere listening rooms, bringing to life classic downtown scenarios like: Get your hand off my ‘mmm mmm’ wipe that grin off your face / It ain’t you I’m lookin’ for I’m lookin’ for someone to take your place. The East Tennessee native will sample her quirky and unfiltered spin on life experiences on the road, heading out in January with headliner Jennifer Nettles on the CMT Next Women of Country Tour as a Class of 2016 honoree. She will also open for Gary Allan next weekend in Las Vegas at the Hard Rock Hotel &Casino. For tour dates and more, visit TaraThompson.com or follow Tara on Twitter.
