Singer-Songwriter Dave Barnes To Release Ninth Studio Album 'Carry On, San Vicente' March 18
WILL HEAD OUT ON NATIONAL TOUR IN SUPPORT OF THE ALBUM
Seasoned singer-songwriter Dave Barnes, who received GRAMMY® and CMA nominations for Best Country Song for his #1 song “God Gave Me You” as recorded by Blake Shelton, will release his ninth studio album Carry On, San Vicente on Friday, March 18th. The nine track studio album was written by Barnes and co-produced with Ed Cash (Vince Gill, Dolly Parton, Amy Grant). Carry On, San Vicente marks a new sound for the Nashville native who describes the album as a tip of the hat to Laurel Canyon in the 70s with a ton of influences from that era including The Eagles and Fleetwood Mac. In celebration of the release of Carry On, San VicenteBarnes will be hitting the road for a tour across the country with stops in major markets including Dallas, Chicago, Los Angeles, Austin, Washington, D.C., New York City and a personal career milestone for the artist with a performance at the Ryman in Nashville on July 23rd. More information on the tour and where it will stop will be updated over the next few weeks so fans should check out www.davebarnes.com for up to date information.
Highlights of Carry On, San Vicente include the up-tempo album opener “She’s The One I Love” that Barnes wrote to emanate the 70s, lyrically celebrating the beauty of a woman and musically with a riff heavy sound over acoustic guitars. Barnes truly accomplishes what he set out to do as the song easily will take listener back in time. “Nothing Like You,” the longest song Barnes has ever written and recorded for an album at 5:43, is well worth the time spent for any listener. It is a true love song that will surely stand the test of time and is his favorite song on the album, a sentiment that will likely ring true for most fans. With soaring harmonies and catchy lyrics “Glow Like the Moon” is one of those songs fans will find themselves singing along with and is a stand out track on the album. Carry On, San Vicente is an album that other musicians will respect, fans have waited for, and newcomers will fall in love with.
“This album, with its sonic direction, is a project I have always wanted to make,” said Barnes. “From start to finish it’s a nod to some of the greatest artists of all time in my opinion, like Fleetwood Mac, The Eagles, Crosby Still & Nash, etc. We created an alum that was so fun to make and will really translate live so we are excited to get out on the road and play it for the fans.”
Barnes has solidified his foothold in the music community over the last fourteen years not only with his music amassing an impressive following with fans, media and even fellow artists calling out his undeniable talent but also working with some of the biggest names in music. He has headlined several sold out tours across the country and has opened for artists including Bonnie Raitt, Taylor Swift, John Mayer, Jonny Lang, Lady Antebellum and One Republic. He has written/co-written songs for artists including Hunter Hayes (“Young & in Love”), Tim McGraw (“Mary & Joseph”), Billy Currington (“Until You”), Terri Clark (“Don’t Start”), Ben Rector (“You and Me”), Kelly Clarkson, Marc Broussard, Matt Wertz, The Josh Abbott Band, Danielle Bradbery and Andrew Ripp. His songs have been featured in movies (“Employee of the Month,” “My Super Ex-Girlfriend”) and TV (ABC’s “Brothers and Sisters,” WB’s “Summerland,” CW’s “Life Unexpected,” Disney’s “Suite Life On Deck,” and Showtime’s “Dexter,” which also featured part of the music video).
