Cole Swindell To Release Brand New Album May 6 - YOU SHOULD BE HERE
Debut single “You Should Be Here” jumps to Top 15 on Country Radio
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Rising star Cole Swindell is set to follow up his Gold-certified debut album on May 6th with You Should Be Here. The forthcoming album draws its name from its emotional lead single, which has quickly vaulted to the Top 15 on the Billboard Country singles chart only three weeks after its official impact date and has become his fastest rising single yet. “You Should Be Here,” co-written by Swindell and Ashley Gorley, follows a string of No. 1 hits (including the recent smash, Gold-certified “Let Me See Ya Girl” and Platinum-certified “Hope You Get Lonely Tonight,” “Ain’t Worth The Whiskey” and “Chillin’ It”), the success of which established him as the first-ever solo male artist in the history of Country Aircheck / Mediabase to top the charts with his first four singles. In just over a month since its release, “You Should Be Here” has sold over 172k units and surpassed almost 6 million streams. It was not only the most-added song on its first day at country radio, but it also shot immediately to No. 1 on the iTunes Country Chart as well as Top 10 on the iTunes All Genre Chart. The song and its accompanying music video have also garnered a huge response from fans. Directed by Michael Monaco and shot in Glennville, GA, the video mixes clips from some of the early milestones in Swindell’s career, including his Grand Ole Opry debut and performing onstage with superstars such as Kenny Chesney and Alan Jackson, with a moving homecoming and his first visit to the cemetery where his dad was laid to rest. Nash Country Weekly praised Swindell’s change-of-pace: “Backed by a piano melody, weeping guitars and electronic beats that evoke a grief-stricken heart, fans get a glimpse of who Cole really is and a powerful tribute worthy of their own loved ones.” Swindell’s achievements in the past year include not only the 2015 ACM New Artist of the Year Award as well as the CMA Triple Play Award for earning (at least) three No. 1 songs in a 12-month period, but he has also sold over 3.9 million tracks and more than 206 million streams for his Warner Bros. / Warner Music Nashville album, Cole Swindell, and Down Home Sessions I and II. The four-time 2015 BMI Award winner (for celebrated songwriting credits for No. 1 hits for Thomas Rhett, Florida Georgia Line, Luke Bryan as well as his own “Hope You Get Lonely Tonight”) wrapped his second annual sold-out Down Home Tour presented by Monster Energy Outbreak Tour in December; Swindell was the debut country artist featured on the Tour.
