The Country Note is dedicated to connecting country fans with the musicians they have come to love. It is more than that though; it isn’t just about keeping you up to date on your favorite artists, or the ones you hear on the radio. We want to introduce you to the up and coming stars we know you will adore. The ones who are bound to be gracing the airwaves before you know it.

That’s what the Fresh Faces column is all about. Each week The Country Note will bring you an interview from one of our choices for “Fresh Face” in the country music industry. These are the artists that we see star quality in, they have what it takes, and have that “it factor” that sets them apart from the crowd.

For our very first Fresh Faces Article we are pleased to introduce you to Justin Anderson. Recently we had the opportunity to ask Justin a few questions and get inside his head a bit. So now we invite you all to take a minute and get to know Justin, and then head on over to his website or iTunes and check out his music.

TCN: What do you think about being considered a "Fresh Face" in country music?

Justin: I think it's awesome of course. Also shocking because up until the EP was released I was just the same as anybody else playing music in small town bars trying to make a name for myself!

TCN: When did music first become part of your life?

Justin: Well music has always been a part of my life. It's a part of everyone's life. It started playing a bigger role about a year ago when I started playing full time, opening for up and coming artist and playing all over the state of South Carolina. Looks like it's really about to become a huge part of my life. I wouldn't have it any other way though.

TCN: How would you describe yourself as an artist?

Justin: I would describe myself as just an ordinary guy. I try to stay as humble as I can and never let anything change who I am or where I came from.

TCN: What do you think sets you apart from the other artists, in the industry today?

Justin: Well it's hard to set yourself apart from others because no matter what you try someone else is trying it too. I would say the main thing that sets me apart would be my style. I try and keep it as traditional as I can, but at the same time I can do something that's fits today's country music as well.

TCN: One of the songs on your EP you wrote yourself, can you describe yourself as a song writer?

Justin: The best way to describe me as a songwriter is simple, I ain't one haha. I can tell I got it in me because I can come up with great ideas, but never find the words. I'm getting better though. With time I believe I will develop into one. I surprised myself with One Last Call.

TCN: What do you think the biggest challenges for country artist today are?

Justin: I think the biggest challenge is there are so many people that are trying to make it in country music. It's a challenge to make yourself stand out because of all the talent out there.

TCN: What would be your dream gig/show?

Justin: Most people say the Grand Ole Opry. Trust me I would love to do that. My true dream show would be able to sit with my daddy on a bench somewhere and just play for him. He was killed in a motorcycle accident 10 years ago and I wish he were here to see his son chase his dream!!!

TCN: What do you find to be the most rewarding part of your music career?

Justin: Several things are rewarding when it comes to playing. One of the best is hearing the crowd sing along to your songs. I finally experienced that a few weeks ago at my EP release party. Not to mention doing what you love for a living is as rewarding as it gets!!!

TCN: If you could give your fans one message what would it be?

Justin: I would simply say chase your dreams. Don't sit back and wait and down the road ask yourself what if. Chase them and see what happens.

TCN: What can we expect next from you?

Justin: Just expect some full band shows. It's been a long two years playing acoustic. I've got a great group of guys and I feel we are going to jam up and I can't wait to blow the roofs off some venues

TCN: Tell us what songs/ artists you are currently listening to…

Justin: I recently bought Chris Stapleton’s album this week and I've had it on repeat. Other than that I'm constantly blasting the good ole 90's country

TCN: Where can people go to get your EP and find out more?

Justin: You can get my EP on ITunes, google play, Amazon, and my website jandersonmusic.com. Follow me on Facebook @ Justin Anderson Music and on Twitter @JustinKAnderson to stay up to date with every thing that's going on
