Country Music’s Rising Duo Maddie & Tae To Perform Pre-Game Concert and Opry Circle Throwdown
NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The Chicago White Sox are bringing the Grand Ole Opry’s 90th Anniversary celebration to U.S. Cellular Field for “Country Music Night,” presented by Pepsi onFriday, July 31 for 7:10 p.m. home game against the New York Yankees. Country music’s rising duo Maddie & Tae are scheduled to step onto the field just before the game to celebrate the Opry’s 90th Anniversary with an Opry Circle Throwdown. The critically acclaimed singer/songwriters will throw down and perform an acoustic set on a replica of the famed six-foot Opry Circle of wood which was removed from the historic Ryman Auditorium and placed center stage at the Opry House when the venue opened. Circle Throwdowns are being performed by Opry artists throughout the anniversary year and have already been staged on USO tours of the Middle East; Pearl Harbor, Hawaii; summer concerts and bluegrass festivals; and more. The White Sox will be celebrating country music throughout the game in partnership with Chicago's most listened to country station, US99*5. Game activities will include a first pitch by US99*5’s Shila Nathan, multiple other artist performances and country music giveaways, and a post-game fireworks show synchronized with video footage from the Opry stage. Game tickets are specially priced for country music fans along with their family and friends, with lower level tickets starting as low as $10.
