It's Monday - the day most of us drag ourselves back to work, to school (dependent on time of year), or just begin the mundane events of our lives that make us responsible when in reality, we'd love to be doing something else. And maybe your Monday, or any other day for that matter, has been affected by another force - a breakup, denied your dream job, being teased or feeling inadequate. We all need that reassurance that yes, we can do this. We can make it. It's all going to be ok. Therefore we present to you the top ten songs to lift your spirits.
The duo, newly signed to Average Joes Entertainment, have always been known for their upbeat songs, realistic humor and Bigg Vinny's fantastic dance skills. This song is a great kick-off to the list; talking about avoiding the realities of the life for one day, you can't drink all day if you don't start early. I know we've all wanted to do that. *hand raised*
The formerly named LoCash Cowboys are back. Recently signed to Reviver Records, the dynamic duo are showcasing a more mature sound than found on their previous releases. It is a well known secret in Nashville that Chris Lucas and Preston Brust are phenomenal songwriters, having penned cuts for Keith Urban, Tim McGraw, Scotty McCreery, Parmalee and more, but now they finally showcase their talents in the most imagery-filled song they have ever released. The look at all of the little things as to why they "love this life" - ranging from a fresh cut field to broken in boots, you cannot help but feel the positivity of the small things radiating through you.
We've all seen the video, a bunch of random individuals across the country line dancing to this top hit of Jackson's - from business men to the overly exuberant factory worker, this song just makes you want to have a good time. It also embraces the little things, like a clean truck, a paycheck, and beer on ice. I think we're starting to see a similar theme.
however "Cup of Tea" is one of those songs you need to hear. Also reminiscent of more traditional flair, Musgraves reassures you that not everyone is going to like you - she lists a plethora of things that could be flaws, ensuring that "oh well, everyone likes their tea different, why shouldn't we all be different to?" So just breathe and let the up-tempo melody put a smile on your face.
This song personally saved my life - depressed at the prospect of being stuck in a meaningless minimum job in the middle of nowhere, this song inspired me to take charge of my own life. I was just like that AM station that never came in right, and could not see myself living either in just a church pew or bar stool. So I made a change, went to grad school, traveled, and have not regretted it one moment. For those in a similar rut, I hope this song helps you the way it helped me.
How could you not love Frankie Ballard? From his extravagant yet chic style to his fantastic guitar abilities and honest sense of humor, he is the epitome of amazing. (Disclaimer: He's the only man who makes me 'fan-girl' in Nashville so I might be biased). His latest release is such an upbeat sound - how are you supposed to be old and wise if you're never young and crazy? You're going to do some questionable things in this life, but remember it's all a learning experience so have some fun.
From the fun and upbeat tempo to the genuinely compassionate lyrics, how could this song not make you happy? Many of us are stressed from merely trying to survive in this rat race of life, yet at the same time we receive an abundance of satisfaction from helping others. So why don't we do it more? Bush reminds us that you can't take the material things when you go, so get the inner joy of giving it to those who might need/want it.
Why on God's green Earth would you sit there and wallow in the misery of being rejected. Life is too damn short and no one's got time for that! The King of Country knows this, remarking that since he's not here for a long time, he's here for a good time. Follow suit and enjoy the dance this song makes you want to do in the process.
There's no questioning it, Underwood is strong in her faith and makes no effort in hiding it. And like many, when times are difficult and life has gone astray, we turn to our faith for comfort, guidance, and resolution. So for those of Christian faith, there is strength and love or 'something' in the water.
The title of this song is powerful enough, hence the notion of naming his praised album after it. Bentley no-holds tells you that whatever is going on, he will make it through - no money, he'll earn it. Times are hard and getting harder, but we'll make it through. The clear message is that you're a 'riser' too, and will be able to get through whatever hardship is plaguing you.
